The Aussie Koala Association Technology (AKA TECH) is an organisation dedicated to saving injured wildlife and promoting awareness of the issues that are facing the koala’s of Australia.

We’re a small group of koala lovers located in Victoria who are working hard on new technologies to save this special creature and improve their return to the bush when injured. Koala’s are often run over by cars as they cross highways and are faced with the constant destruction of their national habitat. As koala lovers, we felt a strong urge to act in their defense and have set up the following goals and targets.

1) Our first goal is to establish koala sanctuaries through the replanting of eucalyptus trees in the regional areas of Victoria. Many members of AKATECH have donated farm land that they own to the organisation which is to serve for replanting in areas known to be inhabited by koalas.

2) Set up a koala emergency hot line that motorists or passersby can dial to report injured koalas on the roads of Victoria. It is hoped one day we will be able to accommodate other states of Australia but at the current time our only focus is Victoria.

3) Open a koala hospital where sick and injured koalas can come to rest, relax and get healthy before being set free back into one of the many koala sanctuaries.

AKATECH’s motto is a simple one; no tree, no me! Without our intervention, our fear of the koala becoming an endangered species may come to fruition and it’s something we want to avoid.
